Diego Sanchez to move down to lightweight
Sources at have MMA Fighting reported :

Diego Sanchez started his UFC career as a middleweight on the first season of "The Ultimate Fighter," but moved to welterweight once the show ended. Now, Sanchez is eyeing another move down, to lightweight.

"I'm training hard and will be dropping down to fight at 155. I will
keep you all posted on the info of the fight! But I promise you all
that I will do my best to win," Sanchez said on his myspace blog.

Sanchez told MMAFighting.com in June that his ideal weight class would be 165 pounds as 155 pounds would be too much weight to cut.

Apparently there are opportunites in the lightweight division that will make it worth his while to cut the weight.

One possible fight that makes sense would be a rematch with Kenny Florian, whom Sanchez defeated to become the winner of "The Ultimate Fighter."

Sanchez (19-2) experienced a major setback in October when he suffered an injury weeks away from a scheduled fight against Thiago Alves, missing out on a chance to win a title shot. Alves defeated Josh Koscheck to earn a shot at the welterweight title.

I really hope the best for Diego...maybe this will be the shot he needs...this definately adds a bit of "Salsa" to the light weight division!!!

that division is picking up with speed,we will see if the cutting affect's his strength.might think it's wise but the day before they are the same weight as him.i think it's too risky when he's doing ok at ww.

i think he should stick out in ww. hes a top 5, given he wins a next fight with a contender his fight after that will be with the champ whoever thatmay be.........i think hes standing in a long line-up of talent before he gets a title shot at lw...........just stating a fact, kenny florian isnt close to the same fighter he was their first fight while diego hasnt really changed his style very much. i likeboth fighters but diego wouldnt be gettin the same cake walk he had last time. Florian would give him hell this time.....just ask roger and stevens.
